Penza, 9 May 2014. PenzaNews. Victory Day is the most joyous day that unites all Russians who bow down their heads to the great immortal feat of the combat veterans and the frontline workers, said Roman Chernov, head of Penza city administration, in his congratulatory speech on Friday, May 9.

“My special words of gratitude to the veterans of war and the frontline workers of Penza city. Together with all who fought in 1941-1945, you contributed to the Victory over faschism. We bow to you, heroes who live among us, and endless gratitude for the freedom and might of our Russia! Eternal glory to those who did not live to the 69th anniversary of the Great Victory,” the mayor said.

Roman Chernov added that it is a sacred duty of the young generation to preserve the memory of the trials who befell on their fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers.

“It is important that we pass on the intolerability to war and faschism to the future generations,” he emphasized.

“Dear countrymen! With sincerity, I wish you good health, kindness, calmness and belief in the future days. May this great holiday bring warmth, peaceful life, happiness and prosperity to every home,” press center of Penza administration quotes Roman Chernov.
