“Commissioning work on the launch of the second package of channels of RTRS-2 has begun in early May 2014. At the moment the work continues in Kuznetsk,” the engineer of radio and television means of RTRS [Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network] branch “Penza radio-television transmitting center” Maksim Loginov on Tuesday, May 13.
He explained that according to the results of the work, over 60% of the Penza region had the opportunity to receive TV package RTRS-2.
“With the launch of the second multiplex in Kuznetsk, this figure will grow by 15 %,” the agency interlocutor said.
Maksim Loginov added that in Penza the second multiplex can be received at 44 TVK, and in Pachelma and Serdobsk — 47 TVK.
“The second multiplex broadcasting is performed in the standard DVB-T2. The package includes the following television channels REN TV, Spas, STS, Domashniy, TV-3, NTV Plus Sport, Zvezda, Mir, TNT and Muz TV. To view the digital television, one need to purchase UHF -band antenna, a special digital set-top DVB-T2, or a TV-set that supports this standard. No additional monthly fee for receiving programs or encrypting the signal is needed,” the representative of Penza radio-television transmitting center stressed.
He noted that during the test broadcasting, there may be breaks due to the need to conduct studies on the measurement of technical parameters of operation of equipment, configuration and measurement of zones of consistent reception.
