The coordinator of the regional branch of the Liberal Democratic Party Mikhail Usov commented the scandalous situation provoked by the chief specialist of the Committee on Physical Culture, Sport and Youth Policy of Penza Svetlana Sudovchikhina who banned to present gifts to the participants of a meeting of children and youth organizations and associations.

“The organizing committee included representatives of city sports committee and youth center “Orion.” In turn, the latter came out with a proposal to the Liberal Democratic Party to become sponsors — grand certificates and gifts to participants of the meeting. Naturally, the activists of the party decided to support the children. A week before the event everything was prepared. 200 bags with handles, notebooks, badges, caps and T-shirts were prepared for the participants. Also, the heads of all organizations were to receive letters, and the winning teams — soccer balls,” Mikhail Usov said.

According to him, the children were very happy when they saw the gifts, but they did not receive them due to the clerk.

“The chief specialist of the Committee on Physical Culture, Sport and Youth Policy of Penza Svetlana Sudovchikhina who was present at the event, said that the rally is held without any political agitation and so she will not hand in the gifts to the children. To permanently strengthen her position, she called the head of the department of administration of Penza on work with administrative bodies, public associations and religious organizations Vladimir Gurin. On the phone, he explained to the city branch of the Liberal Democratic Party coordinator Alexander Vasiliev, that if the party representatives of the party are not leaving the event, police will arrive. The activists did not continue the conflict and left,” the agency interlocutor said.

He also added that the promised gifts were somehow awarded to the children within a few days after the event.

“It has become obvious again, that at children's sports activities gifts can be presented by only a single party. And if it avoided youth organizations meeting, then no one should be distributing the gifts,” Mikhail Usov concluded.
