The head editor of news agency PenzaNews Pavel Polosin showed the guests around the new spacious editorial office which is located on Kalinina Street 119A as of May 1, reported on the most notable achievements of the media, as well as convenient working conditions created for journalists in the agency.

Then the meeting continued in the press center of “PenzaNews,” which in April of this year has been completely updated for press conferences, briefings, presentations and seminars.

Pavel Polosin spoke about the history of the agency created in 2007 and the stages of its development, and he particularly focused on rebranding held in July 2011, explaining what a comma in the logo of PenzaNews means.

“Our signature comma reflects the spirit and style of the agency, symbolizes continuous flow of information, the equivalence of different points of view and neutrality. Comma does not express emotions and evaluations, as do, for example, an exclamation mark or an ellipsis does. So we do not accept someone else's point of view, we only inform about what points of view exist,” the head of the editorial office explained.

He also reminded that in January 2014, the agency logo PenzaNews became a trademark officially registered in the state registry.

“The decision on registration of the logo as a trade mark was made in the summer of 2011 — after the development and implementation of a new corporate agency style in order to protect intellectual property. However, this procedure is extremely complicated, so we can happily report on the event as an accomplished mission by now — almost three years later,” Pavel Polosin clarified.

In addition, during the meeting the question was raised about the quality of students trained in PSU on journalism and their relevance in today's labor market.

“If you think that there is too much theory in the university, and you want something more, then, please, be more active youself, come to the media offices more often like today, thanks to your professor Tatyana Strygina. Compare, evaluate, start more contacts, ask questions. In other words, try to educate yourself, learn through practice, because today the specialist is in demand if he is versatile and most importantly, competent,” the head editor of news agency PenzaNews summed up.
