He noted that some of the objects will be ready in June and July.

According to Magomed Agamagomedov, the active phase of a new stage of work began not so long ago due to the fact that funds provided by the zoo were received only at the end of April.

In turn, mayor Yuri Alpatov demanded a stricter control over the reconstruction.

“The object is a long running project. It is clear that there will be a lot of rework,” he said.

Yuri Alpatov offered to hold regular briefings at the zoo with contractors.

“In addition, at the weekly meeting in the administration of Penza, you will report on the project personally — how many people work, what has been done, what problems exist and so on,” the mayor said, referring to Magomed Agamagomedov.

During the meeting, Yuri Alpatov also talked with the students of school No. 40, who visited the zoo exposition.

He suggested that students could actively cooperate with the institution providing all possible assistance to the animals.

“Announce a competition to collect waste paper to help the zoo. You can, for example, take the patronage of a parrot — buy a toy or food for. I will definitely come to your school to see how the competition is going,” the head of Penza promised.
