“The action team organized collecting point of humanitarian aid. It is situated in a convenient location — at Kulakova Street, 1. The point has already begun its work. It will be open every day from 15.00 to 20.00,” the chairman of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society Igor Pantyushov said during an expanded meeting of the action held at the city administration on Wednesday, June 11.

According to him, they already have several dozen volunteers who will be collecting and distributing aid.

“Everyone over 18 years old can become volunteers,” Igor Pantyushov clarified.

In turn, the head of the veterans' club “Afgan” Sergei Rogozhkin, who was involved in collecting humanitarian aid for the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine, noted that the current situation in the south-east of the country is extremely difficult.

“Most of the goods do not reach the needed. I urge residents of Penza not to go there themselves, because there is a very high probability of giving humanitarian aid into the hands of the “right sector” or just missing the car,” he said.

Sergei Rogozhkin added that the population currently needs clothes.

“There is very acute shortage of insulin, especially among children,” the head of the club “Afghan” said.

Speaking about the aid that Penza residents are ready to give to the brotherly people, the chairman of the regional branch of the Association of Lawyers of Russia Gleb Sintsov said that Penza is already providing free consultations.

“Yesterday two Ukrainian citizens who are now residing in the Penza region, turned for help with citizenship issues. They received all the necessary explanations,” he explained.
