“There are clear mechanisms of adaptation of immigrants, our task is to convey this information to them. People fleeing the horrors of war, need simple human understanding. The heads of municipalities and their deputies must work through the problems of accommodation, care and subsequent employment of immigrants,” the Minister added.

As the press service of the media department of the region told news agency “PenzaNews,” several solutions of accommodating the citizens of Ukraine in the Penza region were announced during the conference.

During 90 days a citizen of Ukraine may stay in the region without migration registration. Also, a migrant can be employed during this period. A person can get either a temporary residence permit, which gives the right to stay in Russia for 3 years, or arrange refugee status or temporary shelter.

After receiving either of those statuses, a person has an opportunity to participate in the program to facilitate resettlement of compatriots that will allow them to gain public support in employment, accommodation and social assistance.

“In case of fast influx of refugees from Ukraine, there is a mechanism to provide them with temporary accommodation and appropriate assistance,” the press service noted.
