Penza, 27 June 2014. PenzaNews. Mufti of Common Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Penza region Abdurrauf Zabirov congratulated all the Muslim inhabitants of the region on the month of Ramazan, and noted that the holy month is a school of moral education for every believer.

“The main problem of modern society is the materialization of consciousness, while the man still has a spiritual origin. Everyone has a soul, feelings, love and mercy,” Abdurrauf Zabirov said in an interview with news agency “PenzaNews.”

According to him, the first thing that blackens the human heart is greed.

“Our beloved Prophet always asked God that he delivered him out of greed, because Paradise is the abode of generous people. A Muslim should not be selfish and pragmatic. Their heart should cover themselves, their family, relatives and friends, and representatives of other nationalities, because the Penza region is multinational,” the agency interlocutor said.

“Our beloved Prophet said: “That does not believe in me who went to bed full, and his neighbor hungry, and he knows it.” Therefore, fasting and feeling hungry, we become aware of what those who are hungry feel all the time, day after day, and as a result begin to think not only of material things,” Abdurrauf Zabirov added.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, the holy month of Ramazan for Muslims will begin at sundown on Friday, June 27. The first day of fasting will be Saturday — for the entire month, Muslims in the daytime refuse eating, drinking and smoking.

The fast lasts for 29 or 30 days, depending on the lunar calendar.

During Ramazan, Muslims make everyday voluntary prayer tarawih, and in the last ten days of the month comes the night of al-Qadr, or the Night of Power.
