Penza, 8 July 2014. PenzaNews. The awarding ceremony of public medal “For love and fidelity” to 70 couples from all parts of the region, who have been married for over 25 years, was held in Penza on Tuesday, July 8.

The event was held in the park named after V. Belinsky to celebrate the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, dedicated to the memory of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom.

Honorable role of hosts was presented to Elena and Alexander Gritsenko, who represented the region in the second district festival-contest “Successful family of the Volga Federal District” in Kirov.

The welcoming word was also said by Archpriest Nikolay Tishchenko and mother Elena.

As the priest said, it has become a tradition in the Penza region to honor families who have lived in marriage for many years.

“I believe that the fire of love that lives each and every soul won all adversity,” he said.

Nikolay Tishchenko also stressed that many of the medal recipients are gathered by happiness that they experience, looking at their children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren.

Besides the official part, entertainment program for everyone to participate was organized in the central park of culture.
