As the press office of the directorate told news agency “PenzaNews,” this measure was taken due to unfavorable infectious diseases situation that has been present in the region for the last 5 years.

“For example, during the first five months of 2014, over three thousand cases of acute intestinal infection were registered in the Penza region. The levels grew up by 17.9% compared to the previous year,” the spokesperson for the regional Rospotrebnadzor directorate commented.

The spokesperson added that the incidence of tuberculosis is still high.

“We registered 247 tuberculosis cases in the region from January to May this year, including 237 with pulmonary tuberculosis, of which 48.8% are bacillary forms,” the directorate representative said.

Rospotrebnadzor spokesperson reminded that the issues of the layout of the pool admission health certificate and the issue of charging for a medical examination for issuing such certificates fall within the authority of the Ministry of Health of the Penza region and specific health care institutions which provide similar services.
