Sanitary and chemical state of Penza regional water deteriorated

Penza, 25 July 2014. PenzaNews. Sanitary and chemical properties of drinking water in the Penza region deteriorated during the first half of 2014 in comparison to the same period of the previous year. As the press service of the regional department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being told news agency “PenzaNews,” the proportion of samples that do not meet the hygienic requirements on these parameters increased from 7.0% to 10.8%.

“Ten municipalities of the Penza region demonstrate excess of average regional rates: Kuznetsk, Zemetchinsky, Mokshansky, Narovchatsky, Spassky, Kuznetsky, Nizhnelomovsky, Neverkinsky, Belinsky and Bashmakovsky areas,” the department spokesperson said.

However, the press service noted that the proportion of samples which do not meet microbiological standards declined from 3.8% to 3.1%.

“Eleven municipalities demonstrate excess of average regional rates: Sosnovoborsky, Kolyshleysky, Neverkinsky, Nikolsky, Nizhnelomovsky, Gorodishchensky, Narovchatsky, Spassky, Vadinsky, Kameshkirsky and Bekovsky areas,” the department press contact said.

The Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being representative added that in the last six months, 23 fines for the total amount of over 57 thousand rubles were imposed for violations of sanitary laws.

“Two cases were sent to the judicial authorities, and in a single case, the work of the municipal unitary enterprise ‘Vodosnab’ in Bashmakovo village was suspended,” the department interlocutor noted.

The press service representative stressed that information on water quality not meeting hygienic standards, as well as suggestions for improvement, was sent to the local authorities of cities and areas of the Penza region.
