Penza, 30 July 2014. PenzaNews. Meeting in memory of soldiers who died in the First World War will be held at the main entrance of Penza State Museum of Local Lore on Friday, August 1.

The event is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of hostilities.

The meeting was initiated by the representatives of regional branches of “Russian Geographical Society” and “Russian Historical Society.”

“We are actively studying World War I, geography of its military operations, participation of our countrymen. Unfortunately, this period of Russian history is still poorly studied,” the chairman of the Penza regional branch of the RGS Igor Pantyusha commented.

The event is scheduled at 12.00, the press service of the regional government informed.
