As the press service of the regional Ministry of Forestry told news agency “PenzaNews,” this measure was taken due to above-average daily temperature and the fifth burning index class.

“All concerned must ensure the efficiency of fire-fighting equipment, conduct additional briefings with the staff on duty and put people on watch. Directors of forestry should undertake comprehensive measures to ensure fire prevention procedures in their jurisdictions. The heads of municipal administrations are instructed to organize additional revisions of settlements and economy objects in terms of determining their fire-fighting readiness, and to carry out the necessary grass-roots work with the owners and users of agricultural land,” the Ministry of Forestry of the Penza region clarified.
