“Lenin Square is the central square, the face of the city. The races begin at 20.00 — unpredictable, uncontrollable, on powerful motorcycles, ATVs, on wheelies and not. Around McDonald's. This does not paints the city in bright colors,” the resident of Penza, who introduced himself as Oleg, stated his point of view, addressing to Yuri Krivov, in a phone call to radio station “Echo of Penza” on Friday, August 1.

As one of the ways to deal with high speed lovers, he offered to organize the evening duty traffic police watch.

The head of city administration, responding to the resident, said that over the past four years he has been watching the young people on skateboards “jumping right at the doorstep of the government.”

“We spoke to them many times. They all were looking forward to the construction of a roller rink. The roller rink was built, built in Komsomolsky park, but they are still here [in front of the regional government building]. So, maybe there is some kind of magic in this place,” Yuri Krivov said.

He added that he had taken note of the problem and will discuss it with the representatives of law enforcement agencies.

“Banning the activity is one thing, but there should be some kind of alternative. We will think about it,” promised the head of Penza administration.
