“We need to work on finding the ways to keep them [the immigrants] in the Penza region. For this purpose, we must examine each and every village. We have plenty of space where they can settle. Every village has abandoned buildings where you can live,” the head of the region said during the operational meeting of the regional government on Monday, August 4.
According to the governor, the Ukraine citizens should be involved in the repairs of housing allocated to them.
“We can split them into teams, buy the materials for renovation of their housing. We do not need freeloaders, and there is nothing to be ashamed of about it. Refugees should work, work for themselves. We are not that rich to keep the working-age population on our backs,” Vasily Bochkarev stressed.
