Fire season destroyed over 20 hectares of forest in Penza region

Penza, 12 August 2014. PenzaNews. Over 20 hectares of forest have been destroyed by fire in the Penza region this fire season, the press service of the regional Ministry of Forestry told news agency PenzaNews on Tuesday, August 12.

“This time period was marked by 25 forest fires,” the agency interlocutor said.
The ministry added that the last of them was registered last Monday, August 11.
“The fire was extinguished beginning from the edges, which helped prevent its spread over a larger area. Three fire trucks, five small forest patrol complexes and a plow tractor were used to eliminate the consequences,” the press service said.
The Ministry of Forestry drew attention to the fact that due to the hot weather during the week, there is extreme fire risk in the region, and urged residents to protect the forest from fire.
