“Since the beginning of the month, the Penza region entered specific fire safety arrangements. They suggest restrictions on campfires, burning debris, crop and forest residues. This is connected with a high risk of fires. But, despite this, our patrols registered a large number of violations. Recreation areas in the forests, in particular, are in disgrace,” Sergei Kozlov said.
He appealed to the residents of the Penza region with a request to take responsibility for meeting the requirements of fire safety arrangements.
“In the circumstances of the fire danger which currently exists in the region, any fire can lead to tragic consequences. I urge Penza residents to refrain from visiting forests or waste incineration. Also, I would like to remind you that the penalties for violation of fire safety rules during the period of the special arrangements are doubled,” the head of EMERCOM of Russia in the Penza region noted.
