Penza, 19 August 2014. PenzaNews. A regular two-day pedagogical meeting “Education for Life” began in Penza Lermontov library on Tuesday, August 19. The representatives of the authorities, including education authorities, school management, veterans of educational sector, as well as members of the parent committee, are taking part in the meeting.

In an opening speech, Svetlana Kopeshkina, Minister of Education of the Penza region, noted that its participants will summarize and discuss topical issues of quality of education and specify the targets for 2015.

“We are going to talk about what lies ahead, and focus on what is the norm for us. We are required to efficiently and fully perform all of this. Also, we are going to discuss the reason of mishaps in a lot of things. The Unified State Examination showed who teaches well, and who does not. There are places where children choose a subject that is not entirely mastered by them, and achieve good results. But there are places where students with excellent and good grades in some subjects fail them at the exam. We will have to do a lot of work to understand why this is happening and fix it,” Svetlana Kopeshkina said.

The regional pedagogical meeting is a two-day program — August 19-20. On the first day there will be lectures and discussions on new developments aimed at increasing the efficiency of the educational process.

The second day of the event will be dedicated to the subject-oriented pedagogical workshops.

The results of the meeting will be summed up at the plenary session, which will also involve an award ceremony for the best fifteen teachers of the Penza region.
