Penza, 22 August 2014. PenzaNews. Several dozen people took part in a combined relay on the Russian Flag Day, which took place in Penza on Friday, August 22.

The event was organized by Penza regional branch of the “United Russia” party in cooperation with the regional community sports organizations.

The relay began with a car rally. The land convoy started off from the Rostok monument and proceeded through Kirova, Suvorova, Karpinskogo and Okruzhnaya streets to “Diesel-Arena” sport and entertainment complex.

Then the Russian tricolor relay was taken up by the cyclists. They rode along the Olimpiyskaya Alley and Lermontova street to the entrance of Belinsky central park. The flag was then passed to the athletes of “Marafon” sports society who brought it to Sovetskaya square and presented the symbol of the new Russia to nordic walking sportsmen, who carried the flag along Moskovskaya street, one of the main streets of Penza.

The relay finished on Lenin square.
