Penza governor suggested special evening travel fares

Penza, 25 August 2014. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev ordered the responsible officials to analyze the potential to increase the cost of public transportation in the evening.

“The residents complain that it is impossible to catch a bus in the evening. To make this possible, we need to change the evening rates. It makes no sense to force the driver go back and forth when there are no passengers,” Vasily Bochkarev said during the operational meeting of the Penza region government on Monday, August 25.
“We should not damage the company’s financial state and make it go bankrupt: this may adversely affect the local residents,” head of the region added.
The governor instructed Yuri Krivov the Penza administration chief, Valery Bespalov, deputy chairman of the regional government, as well as representatives of the department of rate regulation and energy-supply of the region, and transport department, to determine the acceptable evening fare rates, as well as its duration.
