Of particular interest to the Penza residents were the honored sanctuaries: the icon of the Donskaya Mother of God, and the icon of Saint Blessed Matrona of Moscow with a piece of her remains. They will be available throughout all the show until Monday, September 15, so everyone willing can pray by them.

During the fair, it will be possible to buy books, everyday items of Christian Orthodox life, monastic cosmetics, herbal teas, farm products, medicinal honey and other apiary products.

The event will encorporate two thanksgiving religious services. At the end of each, the visitors will be able to talk to the priests on the topics of their concern, or watch movies and listen to concerts dedicated to the Orthodox religion.

As the Bishop of Penza and Nizhnelomovsk Seraphim said, this is the first Orthodox Exhibition in Penza.

“I think it will encourage our parishioners to learn new things about our holy places, help them expand the geography of pilgrimage and get familiar with the church products made in Russia and Ukraine,” the Bishop said.

According to him, exhibition “Orthodox village” aims to show the people how and by what means the church lives today.
