African student diagnosed with tropical malaria in Penza region

Penza, 15 September 2014. PenzaNews. A single case of imported tropical malaria was registered in the Penza region.

As the press service of the regional Rospotrebnadzor department told news agency “PenzaNews,” a student from Africa was diagnosed this dangerous disease.

“This is the third case in the region since the beginning of the year,” the service spokesperson said.

Rospotrebnadzor representativew stressed that the region is taking the measures aimed at early detection of patients arriving from malaria-endemic countries with the help of migration services and military offices.

As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, an Indian student, born 1995, was diagnosed with vivax malaria recurrent in May 2014.
