As accident witness told news agency “PenzaNews,” Audi 80 moving at high speed crashed into a lamp post and then burst into flames.

“The road was empty, so no one else could trigger the accident. Maybe the driver was drunk, or the car skidded, and he lost control. But what is obvious is the stopping distance of 60 meters,” the agency interlocutor said.

He added that one of the victims was pulled out of the car by traffic police officers, who were patrolling the streets near the scene of the accident, and the other man was thrown out of the car through the window onto the road.

“Both men were taken to the hospital by the ambulance,” the accident eyewitness commented.

As the group of propaganda of traffic police department in the Penza region told news agency “PenzaNews,” the driver, born 1985, was hospitalized with an injury of soft tissues of the head, right elbow and knee joints.

“Passenger, born 1990, got entwined injury,” the traffic police added.

The circumstances of the accident are under investigation.
