Sentence on Penza businessman Oleg Totsky’s case appealed by parties

Penza, 6 October 2014. PenzaNews. Well-known Penza businessman, chairman of the local branch of “Opora Rossii” entrepreneur organization Oleg Totsky, who was sentenced to 2 years in a penal colony for killing the 21-year-old motorcyclist Marat Sharipov and injuring his 24-year-old passenger Ruslan Jachin in a traffic accident, has filed an appeal.

“We have received complaints from the victims and the convict, as well as the prosecutor. This case will be forwarded to the Court of Appeal of Penza regional court, where it will be reviewed. The date has not been set yet,” Olesya Bakhteeva, press secretary of Oktyabrsky district court of Penza, told PenzaNews agency on Monday, October 6.
She added that the procedure of preparation for appellate review should take place in the near future.
The agency interlocutor also clarified that currently Oleg Totsky is currently not under arrest, as the verdict has not entered into force.
