“More Air!” campaign planted 12,000 trees in Penza region

Penza, 23 October 2014. PenzaNews. Over 12,000 trees have been planted in the Penza region during the ninth stage of the “More Air!” campaign that took place on September 20—October 20, 2014.
“This campaign, organized by the Penza regional movement ‘EKA’ along with the Ministry of Forestry, Hunting and Nature Management of the Penza Region and the Ministry of Education, as well as the forest services. Overall, 54 education facilities from 15 areas took part in the campaign,” the press service of the Penza Ministry of Forestry told PenzaNews agency.
According to the officials, the education facilities of Kamenka, Bashmakovo, Kuznetsk, Spassk, Nizhny Lomov and Lunino areas of the Penza region were the most active.
“We have also planted over 61 ha of young trees and bushes in future forest zones, parks, alleys and public gardens during the ‘Live, Forest, Live!’ action. Over 7,000 people have planted more than 120,000 tree and bush seedlings,” the press service added.
