Penza, 28 October 2014. PenzaNews. The train services plan to organize high-speed train routes between Penza and Samara, said Alexander Popov, head of the Kuybyshev subdivision of Federal Passenger Train Company JSC during a video press conference this Tuesday, October 28.
According to him, setting up the routes is a global task for the nearest future.
“A daytime express is a train that goes through the regional centers, such as Samara—Penza, Samara—Ufa, Samara—Saratov, etc. Such trains travel by daytime with cruising speeds of 100-110 kmph, thus covering the route in 4-4.5 hours. The recommendations are formed, but this is not a task for a year or two: the program will be in the process of implementation at least until 2018,” Alexander Popov explained.
He added that the routes will use “Lastochka” train wagons.
“These trains were used during the Sochi Olympics: now they are used in the five routes of the network. They will feature comfortable passenger compartments with Internet access,” added the head of the Kuybyshev subdivision of Federal Passenger Train Company JSC.
