He called how the peoples of Russia always united together to defeat their foes.

According to Ivan Belozertsev, there are many new obstacles for the country to overcome in the present.

“The United States of America and the Western European countries do not want Russia to be strong, powerful and thriving nation. They do everything to once again stonewall the Russian Federation into an economic and political embargo. Now we all know our efforts are needed: we must unite to withstand and win,” said the speaker of the regional parliament.

He called for the citizens of the region to work harder and develop the economy of the region.

In his turn, the head of the city Victor Kuvaytsev pointed out that people of many nationalities in Penza always coexisted peacefully.

“I believe that a thriving, financially and spiritually strong state can only be built by carefully protecting and increasing the friendship between peoples and fully developing the national traditions. Penza city has everything for it,” he stressed.

The audience also heard good wishes from Alexander Medkov, chairman of the students’ union of the regional medical college; Gleb Sintsov, leader of the regional Lawyers’ Association branch; and Sergei Kazakov, social activist, Distinguised Artist of Russia, and artistic director of the Penza Lunacharsky Drama Theater.

The 15-minute official ceremony was followed by a show that opened with a performance by “Miryane” musical ensemble.

After the event, most Penza citizens who took part in the public rally went to their homes.
