Penza region student faces trial for killing man on Knowledge Day

Penza, 12 November 2014. PenzaNews. The investigators completed the review of a Penza region criminal case against an 18-year-old college student accused of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm which resulted in death.
“According to investigators, on September 1, 2014 a young man, underage at the time, was drinking alcohol with friends instead of going to the festive event in the college. After that he went to the house of a local resident on Rechnaya Street in Bolshoe Permievo village, Nikolsky area, where during a quarrel he beat the 62-year-old house owner with hands and feet, and then stayed there for the night,” Lyudmila Fomina, Senior Assistant of the Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza, informed PenzaNews agency.
She said that a few days later the victim died from the injuries.
“Also, at night on September 15, 2014 the teenager and a 34-year-old man got onto the terrace of a local resident’s house through a dismantled window frame, where they stole a bicycle and later removed wheels and chain and installed them on their two-wheeled vehicle. As a result, the victim suffered 2,550 rubles of damages,” the agency interlocutor added.
Ludmila Fomina explained that the case will be sent to the court to review on the merits after the confirmation of the indictment.
