Penza State University opens French language resource center

Penza, 17 November 2014. PenzaNews. The French language resource center will open in the History and Language Studies faculty of the Penza State University after the first international forum “Francophony: equality, complementarity, solidarity” on Thursday, November 20.

The center aims to help disseminate the knowledge about the culture and traditions of France and French-speaking countries, organize cultural events and educational work, as well as assist in development of international projects and dialogue.

The forum will also host the discussion platform “Francophony-2014: cooperation perspectives” dedicated to the issues of dissemination and teaching French.

The resource center and the discussion platform will involve directors, teachers and students of the PSU, as well as school students, and honorary guests, such as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Benin in Russia Anicet Gabriel Kotchofa, the assistant secretary of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in Russia Pierre Clouet, the language cooperation attaché of France in Russia Virginie Tellier, and the official representative of the mayorate of Fontainebleau, composer and producer Pierre-Michel Verbeur.

On the same day, the foreign delegation will meet the French-studying students of the Belinsky classic gymnasium No. 1, and take part in the honorary conclusion ceremony of the Year of France in the History and Language Studies faculty of the PSU Pedagogical institute on the main scene in the Philarmonic Hall.

As the PSU press department informs, the honorary guests will sign agreements on cooperation between the regional Department of Culture and Archive, the Penza city administration, the culture department of the city, and the Penza State University on one side and the mayorate of Fontainebleau on the other side on Friday, November 21.
