Penza, 18 November 2014. PenzaNews. 976 orphans are entitled to receive accommodation in the Penza region, reported Elena Stolyarova, Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Demography of the region, during the 22nd regular session of the Legislative Assembly held on Tuesday, November 19.

“455 people have received their own flats. The commitments we made in 2012, 2013 and 2014 have been fulfilled almost completely. There are 47 Penzensky and Kuznetsky area accommodations left to be provided by the end of the year,” she specified.

Ivan Belozertsev, chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the region, noted that the situation in the Penza region is much better than in neighboring Mordovia.

“Earlier this year, lawmakers from Mordovia came here to learn from the Penza region — in the legislative sphere, and how to build the housing system for children-orphans. The republic has smaller population, but as of January 1, 2014, as they told us, there was 2,5 thousand orphans waiting for housing. Our situation is, of course, much better,” the speaker of the regional parliament said.
