Penza, 21 November 2014. PenzaNews. Extensive counterterror drills were conducted under the supervision of the Emergency response center in Bashmakovsky area, the Penza region on Friday, November 21.

According to the scenario, the territory of the compressor station of “Bashmakovskoe linear production of main gas pipelines” has been under fire using unguided projectiles. The groups of the regional Emergency response center, as well as specialists of fire-rescue center and territorial emergency medicine center, arrived at the scene.

The head of the Emergency response center made a decision to introduce counterterror operation regulations (CTO) in Bashmakovsky area.

Evacuation committee of the area administration took measures for the evacuation of the population within the area of the CTO.

Afterwards the head of the Emergency response center instructed to conduct operational and combat activities to detect and arrest the terrorists.

During search activities, the Emergency response center units found launching systems for unguided projectiles, and was able to identify possible whereabouts of criminals. Upon detection of terrorists, they neutralized them and took measures to clean up after the terrorist attack.

“During the drills we worked to improve the interaction of structural units of the region and actual skills of the staff involved in counterterrorist operations. They gave us an opportunity to estimate the willingness of law enforcement agencies of the region to act in case of security threats of this kind,” the press service of the Emergency response center in the Penza region commented for PenzaNews agency.
