Notable religious and social activist Dmitry Smirnov plans visiting Penza

Penza, 8 December 2014. PenzaNews. Dmitry Smirnov, a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church, notable religious and social activist, will visit Penza on Monday, December 15.

His visit includes a congregation meeting in the Penza youth center where everyone is invited.

“Dmitry Nikolaevich Smirnov is the hegumen of the Church of St. Mitrofan of Voronezh on Khutorskaya and seven more churches in Moscow and the Moscow region. He is a permanent guest in a TV program ‘Discussions with the Father’ on Soyuz channel, the host of TV show ‘Dialogue by the clock’ on Spas channel, and earlier hosted the show ‘Russky Chas.’ He also hosts the program ‘Blagovescheniye’ on Radio Radonezh. He founded and leads the project ‘Separate division’ – an Orthodox movement that aims to protect family values, stand against juvenile laws and support pro-life,” the press service of the Penza diocese told PenzaNews agency.

Dmitry Smirnov was the chairman of the Sinod department on cooperating with Armed Forces and law enforcement institutions in 2001-2013.

On March 12, 2013, he was chosen as the first deputy chairman and management leader of the Patriarchal committee on family and motherhood issues.
