Penza, 16 December 2014. PenzaNews. The award ceremony of journalists who participated in the annual competition for the best public report series about the activities of Penza administration and the City Duma was held on Tuesday, December 16.

The city head Viktor Kuvaytsev addressed the managers and staff of regional media with words of gratitude.

“The openness and transparency of the government, the increase in confidence of the citizens is the most important task at present. One of the main mechanisms for the implementation of this trend, as well as in establishing feedback between the authorities and society, is mass media,” he said.

Viktor Kuvaytsev expressed appreciation of the work of the journalists, along with their commitment, integrity and dedication.

In his turn, Penza mayor Yury Krivov noted that the officials often receive the information they do not notice only because of the media.

“Thank you for portraying the life of the city the way it is today, while keeping adhering to the idea that life has to change for the better just like the authorities do,” he said.

During the festive ceremony, PenzaNews agency was rewarded with the City Duma diploma “For completeness and analytical material flow,” which was presented to Ivan Malikov, head of the news agency.

Pavel Polosin, chief editor of PenzaNews agency, who was unable to attend the ceremony due to a business trip to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, was rewarded with the City Duma letter of gratitude for fruitful work, high professional level, significant contribution to the development of Penza journalism and expansion of the information space, accurate coverage of local government activity, socio-economic, cultural and sport life of Penza.
