“I would like to fulfill the orders given by the Penza city Duma 100 years ago, in 1914, when it was thought Penza was founded in 1665, the deputies were preparing for the 250th anniversary, and thinking of erecting the monument of the Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich by the nowadays ‘Grot’ café,” he said during the final 2014 press conference on Friday, December 26.
The official found it just and appropriate to complete this task by the 2015 City Day, and consider putting more monuments of Yuri Kotransky, the founder of the early outpost, and Elisey Lachinov, the first chief of Penza.
“We have no budget money for it, but I think we will find the way. It would also be good to prep up the public garden by the archbishop’s house, there are plans on ‘Rodina’ cinema, and we must work on Belinskovo street, the war hill and the outpost wall that must be rebuilt,” added Yuri Krivov.
