Penza, 26 December 2014. PenzaNews. The massive reconstruction process of the Penza zoo will be complete by early summer of 2015, said the head of the city administration Yuri Krivov during the final 2014 press conference on Friday, December 26.

“We plan to hold the official opening ceremony of the zoo [after reconstruction] on June 1, Children’s Day,” said Yuri Krivov.

According to the official, representatives of the Ministry of Culture, which helped finance the project during the preparations for the 350th anniversary of Penza city, will attend the event.

As the head of the city financial department Olga Zavyalkina informed earlier, the current reconstruction debt amounts to 5 million rubles: this debt will be paid by the end of the year.

The 2015 reconstruction budget for the Penza zoo is set at 7 million 200 thousand rubles.
