Penza, 26 December 2014. PenzaNews. The Legislative Assembly of the Penza region has awarded the winners of the 2014 Best Parliament Activities Journalist Report competition. The award ceremony was held on Friday, December 26, in the Minor Hall of the local government body.

In his address to the audience, Ivan Belozertsev, speaker of the regional parliament, thanked the journalists that support the Legislative Assembly with their news and provide unbiased information about the deputies.

“Last year the Legislative Assembly worked well, in my opinion. We approved 242 regional laws and 162 statements,” he said, stressing that great attention was paid to social support, SME development and presidential edicts.

According to Ivan Belozertsev, the deputies did a big job to prepare draft federal laws that later gained great support at higher levels.

Speaking of the plans on the oncoming year, the speaker reminded about the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the WWII and active preparation activities in all parts of the country.

The audience agreed the authorities and the mass media must work together to help the event go well, tell about the veterans of the front and the labor.

The awards and presents were given to journalists and reporters of Penza television and radio stations, newspapers, online resources and news agencies.

The team of PenzaNews agency received a letter of gratitude from the Legislative Assembly for professional skills, timely reports and unbiased positions. The letter was presented to Pavel Polosin, PenzaNews editor-in-chief.

At the end of the event, the speaker of the regional parliament has wished the audience a happy New Year.
