Penza region police found identities of burglars who stole from veteran

Penza, 1 January 2015. PenzaNews. The police have uncovered the burglars who stole the savings of a WWII veteran and his wife who live in Sergo-Polivanovo village of the Vadinsky area of the Penza region.
As the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs told PenzaNews agency, the theft occurred late at night on December 23.
“Three burglars infiltrated the house by breaking the door. They threatened the elderly people with violence and demanded money. After dealing them non-lethal damage, they took their savings and left. In the morning, the veteran told his relatives about the incident, who informed the police. The officials opened a criminal case after the report,” they said.
The authorities added that a similar case has been reported in the Zubovo-Polyansky area of Mordovia region, where unknown people of Roma outlook infiltrated a house and openly stle money.
“Joint operations with departments in neighboring regions helped establish the identities of the suspects. One of them was apprehended under the accusations of numerous crimes in the Ryazan region. He was questioned and confessed to the crime in the Vadinsky area. The burglar said he acted together with his brother and a woman the latter lived with, both already convicted, and also a driver of a car the burglars used,” said the police.
The press service added the officials are currently working to establish their locations and place them under custody.
“The police are also investigating their possible involvement in other crimes in the Penza region,” said the department.
