Penza, 4 January 2015. PenzaNews. The first strong cold spell of the new year will come to the Penza region at night into Wednesday, January 7, during the celebration of the Orthodox Christmas.

According to meteorological agencies, the temperature may go as low as -24°C at night, and down to -31°C in the morning. On the oncoming days, January 8-9, it will not get warmer than -27°C.

The cold spell will be partially lifted on Sunday, January 11, when temperature will go up to -12…-14°C.

Monday, January 12, the first working day for most Russians in 2015, will greet them with temperature close to zero degrees.
