Warming house with hot meals for the homeless opened in Penza
Penza, 8 January 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza urgent social help center has opened a warming house with hot meals for the homeless during the cold spell in the city, the social department told PenzaNews agency on Thursday, January 8.
“Our employees took an anti-vagabond raid in Oktyabrsky and Pervomaisky areas, located five persons without a place to live, and gave them food, warm clothing, and advice,” they added.
According to the department, social workers have visited 108 socially endangered families from January 2 to January 8.
“The patronage visits help control how the underage spend their free time, the adults received consultations on teaching, social and psychological problems,” said the officials.
According to the social security department, urgent help phone lines of Penza city received 54 calls from people in tough life situations.
“All of them received timely psychological and consultation help. In several cases, we have alerted the relevant city authorities,” stressed the social workers.
