Penza, 19 January 2015. PenzaNews. Several thousands Penza citizens took part in the winter swimming ritual that took place at night into Monday, January 19, during the celebration of the Epiphany. Three font basins were opened within the city. They were located by houses No. 13 and No. 14 on Koshevovo street, but Penza-4 railway station, and at the small lake by Zarya-2 village. Overall, over 70 fonts were officially open for swimmers in the region, each monitored by EMERCOM specialists, the police and medical services. Due to warmer-than-average weather in Penza, the officials paid particular attention to ice safety.

Each font basin was equipped with a warm-and-change house.

As the press service of the head EMERCOM department of the Penza region informed PenzaNews agency, the ceremony completed without any incidents.
