“60 trolleybuses, 152 large and 720 small buses are once again working on the city routes,” the officials added.
According to them, the Department of Transportation and Communications of Penza has organized a service quality audit of transportation companies together with regional government representatives.
As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, 9 bus and 4 trolleybus routes have been suspended as of January 1, 2015.
Due to financial difficulties of the municipal enterprise ‘Penza passenger transportation,’ the city has suspended bus routes No. 1, 3, 4, 9M, 14K, 20, 21, 27, 33, and trolley-bus routes No. 2, 6, 7, and 9.
According to the head of city administration Yuri Krivov, Penza authorities are taking measures to preserve the trolleybus transport infrastructure in order to keep it intact for the municipality. The officials also plan to involve energy companies of the region in creating a transportation organization that would be able to operate without financial losses.
