Penza, 20 January 2015. PenzaNews. The winners of “Sura Krai Creators” contest have been awarded medals “Excellence in Labor,” as well as diplomas and letters of gratitude during an official ceremony that took place in the Grand Hall of the Penza region Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, January 20.

The event was included in the expanded session of the regional branch of “Russia’s Labor Valor” civil organization. According to its chairman Olga Ilyina, the citizens of the region have something to be proud of.

“Let us double the labor valor of our compatriots, restore the traditions, and award all laborers,” said the official.

In his turn, Igor Pantyushov, chairman of the Penza branch of the Russian Geographic Society, said he believes such professional contests become a well-set tradition and such medals and awards will make a push towards creating more advanced rewards for honest and hard work.

According to him, the medal “Excellence in Labor” will help select the best laborers of the region and recommend them for the Hero of Labor of Russia award.

The audience was addressed by Mikhail Makarov, chairman of the Audit Office of the regional Legislative Assembly.

“Today is a notable day for us. Our regional department finally completed its registration and became a full-fledged legal entity. Until that moment, we had been holding such events on a voluntary basis,” he noted.

According to Mikhail Makarov, the decision to create the “Excellence in Labor” award is a logical follow-up to the foundation of “Russia's Labor Valor” organization and the revival of “The Hero of Labor” award.

11 Penza citizens, including doctors, engineers, teachers, cultural workers, and members of veteran, tourism and ecological societies, have received the medals.
