First lethal flu case registered in Penza

Penza, 27 January 2015. PenzaNews. Nine people have been infected with AH1N1 in the Penza region in the first days of 2015, including one lethal case, the press service of the regional Rospotrebnadzor department informed PenzaNews agency.

According to the officials, the medical institutions also registered one case of ANH3N2 infection.
“Current respiratory viral infection and flu levels are below epidemic maximums by 61.2%. Infection levels are below average for all age groups in the city,” Rospotrebnadzor representatives noted.
However, two classes in school No. 50 and gymnasium No. 42 have been temporarily suspended due to quarantine.
H1N1 is a subtype of influenza (flu) type A.
It is one of the most widespread types of flu that causes large epidemics and infects both people and animals.
In 2009, it became well known as the “swine flu.”
