During the meeting of the regional government on Wednesday, February 4, they discussed the possibility of allocating a land plot for the park, funds for its creation from the budget, and potential investments.
The suggestions from the youth were presented by Dmitry Semin, head of the Penza branch of the Young Guard of United Russia.
“Through this project, we will be able to encompass a large portion of youth populace and direct them to solving important issues standing before the city and the region. The project must be a key point in implementing the youth policy. Even though the site will be youth-oriented, any Penza city or region inhabitant will be able to use it freely,” he noted.
According to the project, the Youth park will be divided into intellectual, children, sports, culture, administration and recreation zones, as well as equipment rent outlets, a book exchange bench, a street cinema, and a board game section.
According to Dmitry Semin, the park must become a place for free discussion, where liquor and alcohol is banned.
The representatives of the Young Guard also proposed to choose the lot by Diesel-Arena sports and recreation complex for the park.
In his turn, first deputy chairman of the regional government Alexei Ryabov suggested to use the space by the Youth center and the Fontannaya square.
Among other suggestions were the Olympic alley, Slava street, GPZ-24 neighborhood, Druzhby street, and area by the choreographic center.
The meeting concluded with a decision to implement the project as a part of the anti-crisis program of the regional Ministry of Labor that aims to allocate funds for various youth-designed projects.
Alexei Ryabov noted the Youth park project may be driven by volunteers from the youth with the help from the budget and sponsors.
He ordered youth organizations to finalize the choice of the location and proceed with the project.
