Penza, 11 February 2015. PenzaNews. The mayor of Penza Yuri Krivov has signed the city administration act on a public folk holiday event “Shirokaya Maslenitsa.”

According to the copy of the document obtained by PenzaNews agency, administrations of all city areas, the Department of Culture, the sports committee and the Department of Education are ordered to undertake all necessary preparations and organize public cultural and sports events in schools, sports palaces and outdoor locations.

Besides that, the Department of Business, Industry and Consumer Market Development plans to organize outdoors trading locations in areas of mass gatherings together with area administrations.

The Penza city EMERCOM department is ordered to provide safety conditions during the burnings of Maslenitsa effigies, and allocate a special firefighting vehicle with a firefighting squad for the day.

The City Improvement and Cleaning Department is recommended to install additional trash bins in the Belinsky park, the central recreation area for many citizens.

Moreover, “Penzadormost” is instructed to help the park administration clean the area from ice and snow.

According to the addendum to the document, Maslenitsa celebrations will take place on Sunday, February 22. The events will be held at the Belinsky and Olimpiysky parks, on Kronshtadskaya street, as well as the Penza zoo and the Mayakovsky culture and leisure center.

A separate celebration will be held at the school No. 19 on Yagodnaya street the day before.
