Penza, 13 February 2015. PenzaNews. The potential of social networks for contacting and engaging archive users was one of the main topics of the extraordinary meeting of top managers of the State Archive Directorate of the Penza region that was held on Thursday, February 12.

In particular, the managers discussed ways to inform the citizens of the work of the archive, discuss relevant information extraction issues, as well as answer public questions.

The meeting also made it clear that social networks may help learn visitors’ opinion of how the archives work.

“Our e-mail and guestbook receive 60–80 questions daily, but using such means of communication as Twitter, Facebook and VK will help expand our possibilities of contacting people in many parts of our state and the world online,” the state archive of the Penza region commented for PenzaNews agency.
