Penza, 13 February 2015. PenzaNews. 1,174 employees of the municipal enterprise “Penza Passenger Transportation” that was declared bankrupt were laid off as of February 12, announced Sergei Simonov, deputy head of the Penza administration.

According to him, among them are 381 pensioners.

“We have also employed 498 persons, including 133 pensioners. Among them are 177 drivers, 125 conductors, 159 general workers, 37 engineers and technicians,” Sergei Simonov said during an extraordinary meeting of the Standing Committee of the City Duma on socio-economic development, industry, transport, communications and business, held on Friday, February 13.

He reminded that MUE “Penzalift” has leased trolley bus services, including trolley buses and the whole contact network of the city.

“The trolley buses are operating. This means that almost the entire staff of the trolleybus depot retained their jobs,” vice mayor explained.

The deputy head of the city administration said that the employment service registered 376 laid-off workers, including 176 pensioners.

“There is a working team consisting of the employment service, representatives of the company and administration, that is still dealing with it. All the questions concerning the employment of people are solved by this working team,” Sergei Simonov noted.
