Penza, 16 February 2015. PenzaNews. The territory of CJSC “Ochakovo” located on Tsentralnaya Street, 1, Penza, has been officially deemed a focus of epizootic rabies infection, says the official decree signed by the governor Vasily Bochkarev.

According to the document, a copy of which is available to PenzaNews agency, the territory between Ryabova, Pushanina, Tsentralnaya and Perspektivnaya streets of the Pervomaysky district of Penza is declared a zone of animal rabies contamination, with a 2-month quarantine.

The decision of the Penza region governor set up the action plan to eliminate animal rabies in the contaminated area, that includes disinfection of shelters that may hide sick and dead animals, as well as places of discovery of corpses and working equipment.

In addition, the city services will conduct door-to-door inspections in order to identify people who may have contacted with sick animals to ensure their immediate vaccination.
