City head inspected solid waste landfill

Penza, 18 February 2015. PenzaNews. Victor Kuvaytsev, head of Penza city, has inspected the municipal solid waste landfill by Chemodanovka village.

Sergei Starostin, director of the city waste removal company, has shown Victor Kuvaytsev the areas for waste and provided him with requirements for solid waste storage and disposal.
In his turn, the head of the city asked about the environment impact of the landfill and said some citizens are afraid the company burns the waste and causes great pollution.
Sergei Starostin ensured him the disposal process is closely monitored by the landfill staff and all manipulations follow the Russian laws.
The solid waste landfill is in use since 1959, the press service of the City Duma informed PenzaNews agency.
“All Penza waste is disposed of in here. The landfill receives around 290,000 tons daily. Presently, the 82-hectare area is 75% full,” they clarified.
