New meals, fruit, chocolate await soldiers on duty on February 23

Penza, 19 February 2015. PenzaNews. The soldiers and sergeants of the Central Military District that includes the Penza region will be able to enjoy new meals, fresh fruit and chocolate on the Defenders’ Day celebrated on February 23.

“Celebratory dinners will be held in all military forces and units. To make the day more honorable and improve morale, the command along with food companies will provide improved meals with additional food, for a 20-percent increase of allotted ration money,” Yarolav Roschupkin, official representative of the Central Military District, informed PenzaNews agency.

According to him, the menu for the day will include up to three meals not usually included in army rations of cold and hot dishes.

“These will include the Russian and Mimosa salads, various types of borscht, fish shop and Kharcho. The soldiers in the Middle Asia will enjoy pilaf, shirshula and tasty fried kabobi-degi,” said the speaker.

According to him, the soldiers on duty will also be provided with fresh apples, pears, bananas, kiwis, mandarins and oranges on February 23, no less than two types of fruit for each.

“The celebratory menu will be available not only for those stationed in the rear, but for those on the frontlines and on guard duty,” stressed the Central Military District representative.
